This print is looking at an area of future human development that is hitherto unexplored by me. The image delves underground into the tunnels of subterranean settlement, such as is usually built by government with more weapons than democracy.

I made visits in a short space of time to the catacombs in Paris and the Turkish region of Cappadocia, where their are early christian settlements. These subsurface works had different purposes but similar structures.

At the same time as the visits i was reading a lot about the possible colonisation of mars and found the structures to be similar. I researched salt mines, military installations, sewerage systems and many others and found similar motifs. It seems that when forced underground for whatever reason, we tend to towards closely structured voids or density.
