Slum is an abstract extrapolation of existing slums/favelas/barrios located in the world’s mega cities. It explores how slums form based upon their geography and what dense urban poverty looks like when it is concentrated in time and space (the image). In south America in various cities, slums come in many forms but most infamous among them is the hill side favelas or barrios. The geographical inaccessibility of the land is often the reason it houses a slum. The link between land value and slum development is historical and on-going. What is depicted is a mega slum situated upon a large hilltop.
